Fixture Packing and Installation Planning

Prepare for installation before fixtures leave the factory.

Fixture Packing and Installation Planning visual reference

Choose the packing arrangement

Compare assembled, sectional and knock-down packing against the product, finish and handling route. Protective layers, corner treatment and the package label belong in the packing specification.

Check destination access

Record door and lift openings, unloading facilities and the route to the installation position. Check packed dimensions rather than assuming a cabinet that fits the room will fit through the doorway.

Plan the handoff

Identify who unloads, unpacks, assembles, anchors and connects equipment. Inspect package condition at receipt and record any discrepancy with photographs and package references.

Next decisions

Plan the package around the route to its final position.
FROM REQUIREMENT TO HANDOFF

Plan the package around the route to its final position.

Packing is part of the fixture configuration. The assembled size, protected package, handling route and installation sequence should be reviewed together before the shipment is prepared.

01

Choose the assembly state

Compare assembled, sectional and knock-down delivery for the cabinet construction and receiving route. Identify which joints and panels the site team will assemble.

02

Protect the visible finish

Select protection for surfaces, edges, glazing and hardware. Prevent loose parts from contacting finished faces and identify parts that must travel separately.

03

Code the package

Connect the package number to the fixture schedule and installation zone. Include quantities, loose hardware and any orientation or handling information relevant to the unit.

04

Prepare receiving

Check the unloading area, doors, lifts and movement route using the packed dimensions. Allocate storage space before the vehicle arrives.

05

Inspect and assemble

Record package condition and counts before discarding protection. Follow the drawing revision and agreed assembly sequence, then check level, connections and operation.

06

Close the handoff

Record damage, shortages or fit issues with photographs and reference numbers. Keep the packing list, drawings and spare-part information for support.

Common handoff questions

What happens when the project changes?

Identify the affected reference and revision, then review the effect on drawings, materials, quantities, schedule and delivery scope before releasing the change.

Which documents should the buyer keep?

Keep the measured brief, current fixture schedule, approved drawings and finish records together with the packing list and agreed responsibility list.

How should a site issue be reported?

Send the location, fixture or package code, current drawing revision and photographs showing the issue and its surroundings. Explain what prevents the next operation.
